Terry's Chocolate Orange

Terry's Chocolate Orange has always been a Christmas-time thing. It's the gift you can "whack and unwrap". Who would guess breaking chocolate can be such an enjoyable experience - except when you don't manage to break all the slices apart. Which with my whacking abilities has never happened before... Anyway I realize I haven't had a Terry's Chocolate Orange in years.
These individual packs of the famous chocolate fruit are just catching on in Canada, though they still look kind of out of place in the candy aisles. This particular one, however, is from the UK - where the whole chocolate orange thing originated. I'm excited to see if it tastes different from the ones I've ate in the past.
The fun of whacking the orange isn't an option here. Soo I content myself with marveling at the bar's unique appearance. It looks cute with its 6 sections, that actually resembles orange slices. razz Snapping apart each segment fills some of the void from missing a good whack.
I don't think this chocolate would survive a whacking if it was required. The chocolate is much softer than the ones from Canada, and melts very easily. Mmm but also much creamier, and not as waxy. The orange flavor is more subtle, and not artificial tasting at all.
Good as it may be, I think I'll leave the Chocolate Orange as a Christmas-time thing. The just-fruit and chocolate-ness can be a bit plain, or too sophisticated, for regular eating... if that makes sense.
